Hardness: 5 Density: 3.16-3.22 Soluble in acids
As a plagioclase calcium aluminosilicate feldspar (CaAI2Si208) it occurs as white or greyish, brittle, glassy crystals and is found in basic igneous rocks. Anorthite is commonly refined, packaged and sold under the label of simply calcium feldspar.
