Hardness: 5 Density: 3.16-3.22 Soluble in acids
As a plagioclase calcium aluminosilicate feldspar (CaAI₂Si₂0₈) it occurs as white or greyish, brittle, glassy crystals and is found in basic igneous rocks. Anorthite is commonly refined, packaged and sold under the label of simply “calcium feldspar”.
