Gold Chloride

Miscellaneous

Notes

We learned this from Patricia Dailey: "It can have photographic uses for development of pictures. It is also talked about in very old ceramic texts (1940s and before) as the material that is used to make gold lusters. It is traditionally made from solid or gold chips that are disolved by Aquea Regia, to form gold chloride, and then dissolved in the resins or lavender oil to brush it onto prefired and glazed pottery. It is likely part of at least some current luster formulas like Hanover's etc."
