Volcanic rock, essentially of volcanic effusions, volcanic ash, vitrified rocks, and augite. Formed by magmatic deposition and solidification of loose volcanic debris, often with the help of calcium and/or sodium. Varies in chemical make-up according to location — particularly whether inland or coastal (inland deposits are likely rich in calcium, while coastal are richer in sodium. see phonolite
