Notes
(Richard Willis)
Most popularly used and available feldspars, geophysically, are minerals of igneous metamorphic origin and, geochronologically, are older and more seasoned than volcanic feldspars which are of more recent magma emissions. In practice, volcanic feldspars behave and are much like fritted versions of metamorphic feldspars. Popularly used by ceramists are the minerals analcime and sanidine, and rocks such as nephelinic basalt, nephelinite and phonolite.
