Element, with the symbol Ti and atomic weight of 47.90. Popularly used as an opacifier, whitener and color enhancer. Its usual additive portioning to glazes is between 10 and 15%. The dioxides (TiO2) are water insoluble and fuse at 1825ºC
Commonly used forms are rutile, TiO2, brookite, TiO2,+ traces of Ca, Fe, ilmenite, FeO,TiO2
