Phylonian rock, typically of 25% quartz and 75% feldspar. A graphic granite of high silica content in coarse crystals. Essentially of plagioclase and quartz; also biotite, muscovite, lepidolite, etc. Formed by the final crystallization of the intrusive masses. Petuntze, Cornwall stone and Carolina stone are well-known types.
