Volcanic rock, comprised and formed as other basalts (a rock with many varieties), but this basalt has a uniquely high nepheline content and is blacker and denser and heavier than most basalts. As a natural, unrefined, feldspathic it is particularly rich in usable ingredients and noble in effects.
