Hardness: 5.5-6 Density: 2.6-2.65 Soluble in acids
Popular high-alkaline feldspathic for low to medium temperature glazes, common to use of magmatics and pegmatites. Similar are apatite, cancrinite, and syenite. Mostly used in combination with syenite vis a vis the rock, nepheline-syenite, even though it is equally available via the rock, nephelinite.
