Hardness: 6.5 Density: 3.2-3.3 Insoluble in acids
One of the two mineral source/forms of jade, the other being nephrite. A popular model for glazes, in particular green, blue, and yellow-green glazes with the cast of jadeite and nephrite hues: jade-green, jade-yellow, jade-blue, etc. A popular model for celadon glazes, even though one of agates varieties has been dubbed celadonite.
