Sedimentary rock, of cal-spar; also, limonite, dolomite, quartz and organic substances. Of great variety: some purely sedimentary, others igneous, and others distinctly volcanic and thus magmatic. Principal varieties are identified as being with very high contents of either iron or quartz or fossilized organic remains. see cal-spar.
