Nanophase Powders

Miscellaneous

Notes

Nanophase powders are have a grain size of less than 0.1 micron. These materials have better physicochemical and mechanical performance in areas of mechanics, calorifics, optics and crystalytics. For example: nickel powder of less than 30 nanometer will have 10 times the crystalytic epidemicity. Adding a little nanophase materials to existing mixes will generally improve their performance. For example, porcelain ware is much stronger. Generally the science of nanophase materials is in its infactcy and there are many potential applications.

Nanophase versions of Sb2O3, SiO2, AI2O3, TiO2, SiC, active zirconium silicate are all produced and many are of very high purity.
